Krk island

"Apartments and holiday homes on the island of Krk" conveniently by car: The island of Krk has been connected to the mainland since 1980 by a bridge construction that was unique in the world. Tad about 4 EUR per trip.

Vacation on the island of Krk

Castles, churches and a castle ...
A holiday apartment in Krk, the largest city on the island, is particularly exciting for visitors interested in history: Already in the name of Krk itself, traces of Romanesque and Illyrian civilization can be seen. The Illyrians called the city, according to which the island is named today, Curicta.

History and culture can be felt everywhere on Krk. The Middle Ages left its mark on the streets, squares, and the unique fortress walls. The Counts of the Counts of Frankopans dates from the 12th century. The imposing building is surrounded by fortress walls and four towers that offered protection in stormy times.

Customs and folklore ...

If you book a holiday home or a apartment on Krk, you can look forward to the rich customs and the exciting folklore of the region. Especially during the summer festival, the locals cultivate their culture extensively and proudly carry them out. You will certainly witness the skills of the so -called sopilen players.

Musicians on Krk dominate this ancient wind instrument from the Oboen family. The wood flute has been preserved in this region of Croatia to this day. It awakens penetrating tones that get under the skin and touch the soul.

Excursions to Malinska, Punat and Baška ...

From a holiday apartment in Krk you can reach some nice places in a short time: the town of Malinska, embedded in a lavish Mediterranean vegetation, is eight kilometers south of Njivice.

A dream for connoisseurs: In the likeable restaurants, passionate chefs offer you great fish dishes, vegetables and local wine. There is also a lot to visit here: the chapel of St. Nicholas, the parish church of the Holy Apollinaris and the impressive Franciscan monastery.

The second largest place on the island is Punat. It is located on the south side of the island of Krk, on one of the most protected and most beautiful bays in the Adriatic. Several sandy beaches are surrounded by the sophisticated holiday resort, which are otherwise rarely found in Croatia - one reason why apartments on Krk are so popular.

The town of Baška also has a lot to offer for vacationers. One of the most important writings of the Croatian language comes from here: the Plate of Baska from 1100. This labeled stone slab is the oldest certificate of Croatian language and history.

Bathing opportunities

219 kilometers of beaches and the nickname ""Island of the Blue Flag"" speak for themselves: This quality mark for particularly clean water and high -quality services was particularly often awarded on Krk.

Anyone who loves sandy beaches will get their money's worth with a holiday home or a holiday apartment on Krk: there are six beautiful sandy beaches here, which will particularly inspire families with children. In the Bay of Soline you will find several fantastic beaches:

  • Strand of Čižići with a beautiful bank promenade with restaurants and bars

Krk also has beautiful beaches for dog owners. There are four official dog beaches where you can take your four -legged friend with you and even let them rage in the water:

  • Dog beach in the Kijac district by Njivice

  • Gries beach Redagara near the bay Dražica

  • Dog beach at the southern end of the popular beach Vela Plaža in Baška

  • Dog beach on the Punta Šila in Šilo

Fans of textile-free beaches can be found on Krk Stolze 19, some of which are very nice nudist beaches. Many are hidden wild beaches and remote bays that can only be reached on foot. But they are undisturbed there and can enjoy the beauty of the island of Krk to the fullest.
