Huge mountains

The giant mountains are the highest and most visited Czech mountains. The Schneekoppe (Snezka) forms the highest peak with a height of 1600 meters above sea level.
Gourmet with giant appetite should visit the city of Hořice (Horschitz). Horschitzer rolls have been manufactured here for 200 years. Prepared from thin, crispy wafers, sprinkled with sugar or almonds, nuts or raisins, lemon or orange peel, vanilla or cinnamon.
Too much nibbled? Don't worry - the giant mountains offer enough opportunity to train the calories when playing with the children: when hiding behind tree giants or catch on sun -drenched clearings, unnecessary pounds are down again.

National park and nature reserve ...
Most of the 40 km long mountains on the Bohemian side is a national park and, with the Polish part, forms one of the largest nature reserves in Central Europe. The mighty mountain chains offer you numerous hiking trails with a total length of 700 kilometers, some of which can also be used for mountain bike tours.

You can also admire the picturesque landscape of the foreland with folk architecture and historical sights. A visit is certainly the village of Spindleruv Mlyn, which has a few great hiking trails to offer and is known for their summer toboggan run, where families with children can experience a lot of fun. In the Labska district, a dam binds to the Elbe.

Summer toboggan run
is the first toboggan run in the Czech Republic, which is available to visitors all year round. You can enjoy the journey through 22 curves, three tunnels and five terrain falsifications. Thanks to its length and profile, the 1400 m long track is one of the best in the world. Traffic time: daily from 9 a.m. to the dark in favorable weather. (District of Bedrichov No. 127 - next to the Hotel Harmony). Price: from EUR 2 per trip
