Nine bridges lie between the northern and southern end of the city, with the chain bridge - as the oldest and therefore most important - is also the symbol of the city. You should not miss the unforgettable view of the Fischerbastei, a monument to the seven former Hungarian tribes with seven towers. It rises on the Burgberg at the site of the medieval fish market in Buda. An oasis of calm is the popular margarethen island with huge trees and spacious lawns.

The Budapest Burgviertel and the Burgberg are parts of the World Heritage Site in Budapest and are on the Buda side of the city. You find buildings of historical importance, including three churches, several monuments and six museums.
