Costa Tropical

The "tropical coast" is a 60 km long coastal strip in southern Spain. It offers beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque bays combined with the snow -covered mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

Vacation on the Costa Tropical

A coast to relax ...
The ""tropical coast"" is characterized above all by its mild and pleasant climate. There are 320 sunny days a year, longer than elsewhere in Europe, and the average annual temperature is 20 ° C. This climate enables the cultivation of pineapple, avocado, mango, papaya, sugar cane and other tropical fruits. Popular seaside resorts with a wide range of hotel and holiday complexes are Almuñécar, Motril and Salobreña. The Costa Tropical not only offers sun and beach but also a lot of history and culture. Relax in one of the holiday homes or apartments of the Costa Tropical.

Cities to fall in love with ...
Almuñecar is located about 84 km from Granada and developed over 2000 years ago from the Phoenician-Roman colony Sexi. The Roman aqueducts, the San Miguel Castle and the current Archaeological Museum, as well as the Cueva de Siete Palacios (cave of the seven palaces) are particularly worth seeing.

The city of Motril is located on a hill and was previously surrounded by sugar cane fields. Its old town is strongly shaped by the Hispano-Arab architecture. The important trading city has a large selection of shops and is an interesting travel destination in every respect.

Salobreña lies at the feet of a mountain slope on which a Moorish castle dominates the city. From the fortress you have a nice view of the Sierra Nevada, the sea and the vegetation. You can take many water sports activities, fishing, stroll through the city, or just relax on the beach.

Sports & Freetime

The Costa Tropical offers a large selection of sports and leisure activities such as: Palmenpark ""El Majuelo"" in Almuñecar, Andalusia's largest aquarium in Almuñecar, water park in Almuñecar (open from June 15 to September 15), golf course in Salobreña, hiking Through the villages in the interior, windsurfing, surfing, diving, riding, catamaran, yet-ski, kitesurfing, snorkeling, marina del Este in La Herradura and marina in Motril, paragliding, sailing ...

The Sierra Nevada is only about 1.5 hours of car ride from Almuñecar (good connection via Granada) and is a very attractive ski area for all ski vacationers. In 1999 the ski world championships even took place here.
