The Novigrad Riviera ... The city of Novigrad is located about 15 km south of Umag. Ancient backdrop ... Novigrad has a medieval road network that leads to the sights. The most important are: The Gothic houses that they will meet everywhere, many residential buildings, the pure parish church of St. Mary, St. Maximilian and Pelagius, foundations of the old Christian basilica, under whose altar there is a three -aisle Romanesque crypt, the basilica of the Holy Pelagius from the 13th century and the three -aisled church of the Holy Agata from the 10th to 11th centuries north of the city. On the Karpinjan peninsula, the remains of a large manor with the late baroque magnificent building of the Rigo family are located. The city walls from the 13th century extend through round Renaissance towers. In addition to the former city leaders, there is a square tower from the earlier times. The municipal loggia, which is the only one in Istria, is probably built in the 16th century. Located on the west coast of Istria, Novigrad is embedded between the medieval studs Momnjan, Groznjan, Motovun, Oprtalj and Zavrsje. These are the pearls of the Novigrad Riviera, as there are as many small medieval towns as here. A promenade leads around the old town of Novigrads. Parts of the sunken ancient city can still be seen in good weather today. Motovun is a typical, Istrian place of hill (590 inhabitants) and one of the most visited excursion destinations in central lines. Its attraction lies in the medieval cityscape (Ringwall with two further half) as well as in the wonderful view of fertile vineyards and the forest of Motovun, which is under nature conservation.

Cycling: One of the best marked bike paths leads from Novigrad along the coast to Hotel Maestral and further via Rozelo to Antental. From Antental, turn left after 5.3 km and drive uphill to St. Dionizije via Srbani to Nova Vas. We continue via Pavici, Druskovici, Turini, Marincici, Strolgarija and Punta to Karigador, where they drive left towards Dajla. From there you drive back to Novigrad via Mareda, Pineta, Karpinjan. (Route length: 32 km, height difference 138 m, approx. 3 hours, light route) We wish you a lot of fun!
