Peschiera del Garda

The port town of Peschiera, populated in prehistoric times, has always been a strategically important point, because here the Mincio River leaves the Garda lake fed by mountain streams.

In the Middle Ages ...
If you made the Mincio navigable and created a connection to the Adriatic. Today the river forms the natural border between Veneto and Lombardy. The Langobarden gave the former fishing village around 740 to the former fishing village. With its 2250 meter long wall, the Venetian period around 1555 when Michele Samicheli and Guidobaldo d´ Urbino were fortress builder of the Doge. Napoleon Bonaparte had the system intensified in 1790. The same happened after the peace of Villafranca under the rule of the Habsburgs, which expanded the fortresses of Peschiera, Verona, Mantua and Legnano into a strategically important defense rattle. It was not until 1866, when the Austrians were with the Prussians in the war that the King of Italy Viktor Emanuel II was also able to count Veneto among his empire. The new borders against the displaced Austrians were drawn in Trentino, and thus the previously insurmountable fortress was lost in its strategic importance.

Golf
There are currently 5 golf courses on Lake Garda, which are becoming increasingly popular. The environment is unique of almost all systems. Golfing on Lake Garda means joy in the Mediterranean hilly landscape between olive groves and cypresses, in the background the water of the lake glitters, which almost resembles the sea.

The golf courses are largely in a top state, juicy, well-groomed green and original design show that this sport is very important on the southern edge of the Alps.

The places are generally open all year round, German and Austrian players are also drawn to the evergreen fairways in winter. Typical for Italian golf courses is a day of rest a week (mostly Sunday). In addition, the fairways are only available at certain times, e.g. at lunchtime. All systems are coupled to hotels, enjoying green fairy as a hotel guest. The prices are very different depending on the season and space, but can be compared with German prices.
