A little less known than the Plattersee and much smaller, but no less fantastic, the Velence lake is halfway between Budapest and Balaton. The places Agárd, Gárdony and Velence are particularly a paradise for friends of water sports.
The lake is only three meters deep at its lowest point and therefore very flat. Therefore, almost half of the water surface is covered with reeds: an ideal retreat for many bird species that can be observed well from the canoe.
